We wanted to share a little of whom we are and why we are so enthused about the Discount Home Shopping Business.  Mills River is a newly formed township, in the Western NC Mountains.

Pat is originally from the lovely mountains of North Carolina.  Most of her adult years have been spent raising the family of 8 children, working in the accounting field to supplement the family income. Two of the 8 children have met untimely deaths.  We are still blessed with 5 lovely daughters, a son, and our extended family includes the 2 widows, 5 sons, a daughter, 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, and last but not least the 2 extended grandsons and granddaughter who gave us the joy of great grandchildren.  

Through the years we learned to adapt to the different interest and personalities of the family, so we are blessed with a wide range of interests.  Church and Bible studies at the top of the list.  We give praise and thanks for these two activities being taught so diligently to Pat by her grandfather.  We feel this gave us the blessing of the success of our family.  Each has their own forte, but each is successful in their field.  Some of the happiest moments are when the family can all get together spending relaxing time playing games and challenging the knowledge of each other.  A few times a year our modest home is usually bursting at the seams.

Jim's hobbies include working in his shop with wood, gardening, watching sports on TV (or better yet get him a ticket to the game), he loves the water and his dream is to own a Jet Ski. He loves doing volunteer maintenance and repairs for the church and those in need.  His involvement with other sports activities have diminished somewhat but he can still be caught playing with the grandchildren in whatever sports activity they are involved in.  Other than quiet times when he is reading, he will very often be seen with his headphones listening to music.  He has a wide range of preference of music from classical, gospel, country and western, and the oldies.  He is an excellent dancer.

Pat would have to admit that her top hobby is the comfort and happiness of Jim, the family, and her wide circle of family of friends.  Her great love of books is noted by the oldest daughter who is quick to tell that most Moms take their child on their first outing to a park or an amusement center, but not her Mom; she takes her to the library.  Pat's reply is "It paid off, as we are all a family of readers"! Cooking, sewing and coming up with unusual or odd crafts that can be made very inexpensively are some of the things she enjoys.  She shares Jim's love of the water and his enthusiasm for the Jet Ski.  She too can be caught in the act of sharing in the fun with the grandchildren.  Jim's love of music is also shared by her, however when she is concentrating on work she prefers the quiet.  She attributes this to the fact that when the children were babies she preferred it quieter so she could hear them.  Both Pat and Jim love to travel and one of their dreams are to go on an Alaskan cruise.

Loss of the sons increased their dream of freeing up more time for family and friends.  Only one of the daughters lives locally.  The others all live in Atlanta, Thomson and Dearing, Georgia.  The extended family is widespread from Greece, along the eastern coast from Florida up to North Carolina.  Our goal is to build the DHS Club business to supplement our retirement, close the traditional businesses and this would give the opportunity to take the laptop and have the freedom to go.  Pack the business and take it with you is a favorite phrase around our household.  You may think what is the freedom of taking the business with you?
